1996  Games of the XXVI Olympiad in Atlanta (The United States)

All NOCs, near 200 nations and regions took part in the Atlanta Games. The Japanese soccer team returned to the competition after an interval of 28 years. In preliminary contest, Japan scraped a 1-0 win over Brazil and made the whole nation exulted in that success. Although the Japanese team couldn't get through to the finals, its strenuous efforts were good enough.
