1964 　Games of the XVIII Olympiad in Tokyo (Japan)

The 1960 Tokyo games fulfilled Japan's dream of hosting the Olympic Games. Satellite transmission was used and the Games were broadcasted to 70 countries. It is said that it was the Tokyo Games that made the mass communication type Olympics become popular.
Japanese, ranking after the United States and Soviet, got 16 gold medals and showed its activity to the world. Judo was introduced to the Olympics.
