From the fourth Olympics which were held in London, all participant countries had to apply through the International Olympic Committee, while before that, people were qualified for Olympic competitions when they applied individually.
In this Olympiad, “the most important thing for the Olympic Games is to participate” became the famous proverb of the Olympic Games.
