1980    Games of the XXII Olympiad 　 in Moscow (the Soviet Union)

The games were full of troubles because of the 1979 Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. United States President Jimmy Carter announced boycott the Moscow Olympics and many other countries followed the United States. As a result, the Soviet Union won 80 gold medals in 204 competitions. Japan wasn't in the Games, too.
