1904　Games of the III Olympiad in St. Louis, Missouri   (The United States)

T he third Ol ympics were held in St. Louis of the United States.
Participants were less than before because the host city was far away from Europe.
The most interesting thing happened in the Games was marathon race. A runner dropped because of exhaustion after 20 km . S omeone found him and gave him a ride until 40 km from the starting point. Then he continued on foot to the goal and broke the finishing line tape first. One hour later, with the driver's witness, his cheating came out and he was eliminated from the gold medal.
