1960   Games of the XVII Olympiad in Rome (Italy)

Many topics were generated in the 1960 Games. Ethiopian athlete won the marathon bare-footed to become the first black African Olympic champion. An athlete died because of the influence of amphetamines his trainer gave him. His death led the International Olympic Committee realize the importance of drug testing.
The Japanese men's gymnastics team won the first gold medal in team event , and gathered momentum for the next Olympic Games―the Tokyo Games.
